## GPA calculation

GPA can be easily calculated as a weighted average of the all the grades, at the time when the number of credit/hours is the weight and hence the numeric grade is to be taken from the given GPA table.

The GPA is equal to the sum of the product of the credit hours weight (w) times the grade (g):

GPA = w1×g1+ w2×g2+ w3×g+ … + wn×gn

The credit hours weight (wi) is equal to the credit hours of the class which is divided by the total sum of the credit hours of all classes:

wi= ci / (c1+c2+c3+…+cn)

Example of GPA Calculation

3 credits class with A grade.

2 credits class with C grade.

3 credits class with C grade.

credits sum = 3+2+3 = 8

w1 = 3/8 = 0.375

w2 = 2/8 = 0.25

w3 = 3/8 = 0.375

g1 = 3

g2 = 2

g3 = 3

GPA = w1×g1+ w2×g2+ w3×g3 = 0.375×3+0.25×2+0.375×3 = 2.75

## High School GPA calculation

The High School GPA can be calculated as it equals to the weighted average of the present grades, when the number of hours is the weight and the numeric grade is taken from the below given GPA table.

The GPA is equal to the total sum of the product of the credit hours weight (w) and the grade (g):

GPA = w1×g1+ w2×g2+ w3×g+ … + wn×gn

The credit hours weight (wi) can be found very easily as it is equal to the credit hours of the classes that are divided by the sum of the total credit hours of all the present classes.

wi= ci / (c1+c2+c3+…+cn)

Calculates the final exam grade which equals to 100% times the needed grade, minus 100% minus the final examination weight (w) multiplied by the current grade (g), and the whole is divided by the total exam weight (w):

Learn finding the Final Grade Calculation!

For Instance,

• Current grade is 70% (or C-).
• Final exam weight is 50%.
• Required grade is 80% (or B-)

= (100%×80% – (100% – 50%) ×70%) / 50% = 90%

The final exam grade is 90% (or A-).

Grading is the process of calculating standard measurements for all the achievements. To calculate grades, enter your weights and grades and hit the Calculate button.

The weighted grade can be calculated as the sum of the product of the n weights (w) in percent (%) times the exact grade (g):

Weighted grade = w1×g1+ w2×g2+ w3×g3+…

If, the weights are not in percent, then divide the same by the sum of the all weights:

Weighted grade = (w1×g1+ w2×g2+ w3×g3+…) / (w1+w2+w3+…)

For instance,

2 points in English course with grade of 80%.

3 points in Physics course with grade of 90%.

5 points in Biology course with grade of 72%.

The weighted average grade can be calculated as:

= (w1×g1+ w2×g2+ w3×g3) / (w1+w2+w3)

= (2×80%+ 3×90%+ 5×72%) / (2+3+5) =79 %
