Millicandela to lumens calculation
The formula used to calculate the uniform, isotropic light source, the luminous flux Φv in lumens (lm) is apparently equal to the luminous intensity Iv measured in millicandela (mcd), multiplied by the solid angle Ω in steradians (sr) which is totally divided by 1000.
Φv(lm) = Iv(mcd) × Ω(sr) / 1000
The value of solid angle Ω in steradians (sr) is apparently equal to twice the value of pi times 1 minus cosine of half the apex angle θ measured in degrees (°):
Ω(sr) = 2π(1 – cos(θ/2))
The value of luminous flux Φv measured in lumens (lm) is apparently equal to the luminous intensity Iv measured in millicandela (mcd), multiplied by twice and half the apex angle θ measured in degrees (°) and finally divided by 1000.
Φv(lm) = Iv(mcd) × ( 2π(1 – cos(θ/2)) ) / 1000
So, the value can be found by,
lumens = millicandela × ( 2π(1 – cos(degrees/2)) ) / 1000
Or, the formula uses is,
lm = mcd × ( 2π(1 – cos(°/2)) ) / 1000
