Watts to VA calculator

Watts to VA calculator

We are offering the Watts (W) to volt-amps (VA) calculator, to help you with calculations.

All you need is to enter the real power in watts and the value of power factor and then hit the = button to obtain the values of apparent power measured in volt-amps.

Enter watts: W
Enter power factor:

Result in volt-amps: VA

Watts to VA calculation

The value of apparent power S measured in volt-amps (VA) is apparently equal to the real power P in watts (W), which is later divided by the value of power factor PF.

S(VA) =  P(W) / PF

Learn to convert watts to VA

You can simply learn to convert the real power in watts (W) to apparent power measured in volt-amps (VA).

Watts to VA calculation formula

The value of apparent power S in volt-amps (VA) is apparently equal to the value of real power P in watts (W), which is divided by the power factor PF.

S(VA) =  P(W) / PF

So the value of volt-amps are apparently equal to watts which is divided by the value of power factor.

volt-amps = watts / PF

or, it can be said that,

VA = W / PF

For Example,

Find the apparent power measured in volt-amps if the real power is 2000W and the value of power factor is 0.6?

Solution:

S = 2000W / 0.6

= 3333.33 VA
